Faster

In some ways, the holiday is a frustrating pause in our work - just as we really hit a quick pace. Vocals and lyrics are coming along now and we’re putting some new flourishes on things to nudge them in the right direction.

I worked on ‘Skimming’ a little bit yesterday adding some bass and guitar to give it a bit more life. I’ll have to listen to what I recorded when I have some time tomorrow. Should be in the studio a while as we’ve got a backlog of vocals to record on (what used to be called) ‘Life Is Hard Enough’ and ‘Breath Makes Smoke’. Still need to do the harmony part on ‘Sneaky Creatures’. Of course we may just skip it and go $hopping. Somehow, I’ve survived the past couple of days without procuring a few plasma-screen televisions or Nintendo games. The season is still young, though, I suppose.

Earlier today, Rebecca and I caught the new Coen brothers film, No Country For Old Men. I’ll just join the chorus and say that it was stark, subtle, and incredibly good.
