Major Progress At Last.

In between the heat, the fireworks and the chardonnay, there’s a little bit of time to work on music. In the last couple of days I’ve finalized the writing and initial arrangements for four of the songs that really needed to get finished up. In particular, the track I’ve creatively named ‘Untitled06′ has turned into a full-fledged composition with different parts and a bit of charm all its own. ‘Critic’ and ‘Clipped’ have found endings, finally. It seems I’ve rediscovered the coda for this new batch of songs. As I listen back to things, I smile at how many of the songs don’t end on a repeat of the chorus bit. All the writing that remains is to finish up ‘Headlong’, ‘Late Night’, and the new piano thing I’m working on. There are one or two other bits still laying around that may evolve depending on available time and a little serendipity.
