Travelogue - Day Five
We’ve just landed back here at the hotel from a LONG day of rehearsal. I neglected to mention that yesterday, right as we began, we learned that the guitar amp we brought was not working. That meant today we had to get it repaired quickly.
This morning, on the way to the rehearsal space, the van dies outside a cafe. Luckily, we’re near the studio, so Toby, Nolan and I walk down and Rebecca (heroically) takes charge of getting the van towed to the mechanic, getting a loaner car, and taking the amp to get fixed. Amazingly, all of this gets accomplished by early evening and we get tons of rehearsal time in. Seriously, unbelievable how well it worked out.
By the end of rehearsal, things were sounding great. My new laptop-based setup is working near-flawlessly, Count’s also. Technically, I expect a pretty low-maintenance tour (I realize I may eat these words soon).
Tomorrow, the CD copies of the ‘Sawtooth EP’ arrive here in Minneapolis, so if you come out to one of the shows, you’ll be able to pick up one of those (not sure if we’ll have any past the tour). Also, tomorrow is, of course, the first show of the tour. More rehearsal in the morning, then load-in and soundcheck in the evening. Rock at night.
Stay tuned…
